To make this measure more effective and tailored to the specific context of your company, we recommend that you first perform an overall analysis of your energy situation.
The use of domestic hot water varies from company to company. In some cases, it is used for sanitary installations and cooking, while in others, hot water is used for manufacturing or to assist in the production of materials or services. As a result, it is important to put in place the right solution, tailored to the specific situation.
Refer to the detailed version of this measure for an approach showing the stages and benefits of changing the DHW system.
Starting a domestic hot water system project
To answer the main questions about investing in a hot water system, and to guide you through the various stages of the project, we’d like to give you an initial overview.
Questions to ask yourself before starting your project
Do I know the basic details of the existing domestic hot water system, e.g. age, general condition, centralised or decentralised system, energy consumption and associated costs, etc.?
How much hot water do the various functions of the building require to run the company?
Can certain existing consumption points be removed?
Does the company produce waste heat that could be recovered to produce domestic hot water?
Are there any special requirements regarding the provision of hot water (temperature level, quantity, etc.)?
What technical solutions are possible? Which, if any, are excluded?
